 Welcome to Barefoot Pilates Studio

Hi there, my name is Mindy and I’m an Advanced Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer, and have been teaching Pilates for clinical rehabilitation and exercise since 2016. Living in Hervey Bay Qld and own and operate my own little Pilates studio.

I work closely with you to ensure that you get the most out of your Pilates Class and whether you have back pain, or stiffness, or sore neck, shoulders, hips or knees, or want to improve your flexibility, core strength, mobility and balance, I can taylor a class to suit your needs. I also work closely with your allied health professional or Doctor, providing clinical Pilates rehabilitation, to ensure you have the best outcomes from your Pilates experience.

My classes are small and you will receive individual attention in an airconditioned studio dedicated to everything Pilates. I specialise in Matwork Pilates and use Swisse Balls, Small Pilates Balls, Foam Rollers, Flex Bands and the famous Pilates Circle. Each piece of equipment can enable you to undertake exercises in a safe manner when there is pain, or can be downright dirty – really focussing on activating those target muscles, improving your strength and easing that back pain!

Come and meet me and discuss what you would like to achieve from your Pilates class, whether it is recovery from back or other pain, preparation for surgery, to help with every day tasks, and for that famous mind – body connection that comes with Pilates exercises.

I work with people of all abilities and have additional qualifications in Health and Fitness Disability Support; Hip, Neck and Back Pain; Pregnancy; Athletes from all sports and people who want to improve their flexibility, core strength, stability, balance and mobility.

Please come and meet me at the Studio or phone to make an appointment. My classes run early to late morning and afternoon to evenings through each week.

Pilates as an exercise

Pilates tones and reshapes your body, creating long, lean muscles, toning all of those hard to target areas such as the abdominals, inner thighs, buttocks, back of thighs, sides and backs of the arms. Pilates exercises are performed with a wide range of movements to work on lengthening the muscles at the same time as strengthening them to improve your flexibility. Our Pilates Instructors can develop a program to target your specific postural problems.

Enhanced Athletic Performance

Pilates is the secret tool that many high level and recreational athletes use to enhance their performance, decrease the risk of injuries and provide much needed cross training. Each sport has specific strength and flexibility requirements. When you book in for an assessment, your Pilates Instructor will work with you to design a Pilates program for you improve your performance.

Pilates for Rehabilitation from Injury or Illness

Mindy works closely with your Allied Health Provider and Doctors to provide clinical Pilates for injury rehabilitation and prevention, working on core stability, posture, flexibility, and correcting muscle imbalances and weaknesses via specific strengthening.
